How I charge
Time, plus costs at cost
Transparency might be all the rage now, but Definition has offered it for over a decade.
Clients are charged for my time. In many cases, such as pure consultancy or text-only tender submissions, this is the only cost. Where extra resources are needed, the cost of these is passed on at cost. No mark-up, no margin, no mystery. Where you have in-house specialists or existing preferred suppliers, I am happy to use them.
My own ‘regulars’ - tried & trusted people who do good work and deliver exceptionaly good value for money (because they know me, know they’ll get a proper brief and know they will get paid), include graphic designers, website programmers, database specialists, photographers and printers. Some of them are listed on the Partners page. As with all of my clients, you are welcome to speak with any of them about me.
This approach promotes trust, delivers clarity and delivers significant savings, because I know what good services cost. Typically, for example, this saves 10% - 30% on printing costs, 20% on artwork costs and at least 30% on high quality website design and programming.
