Red Engineering Design has secured shortlistings for major client J Sainsbury plc in the 2010 CIBSE Low Carbon Performance Awards, in the Client of the Year: Low Carbon Operation and Client of the Year: Energy Performance categories. Both submissions were drafted for Red by Michael Taite of Definition, in consultation with Red partners Halsall and client J Sainsbury plc.
The shortlistings reflect Sainsbury’s highly impressive and on-going progress in reducing its energy use and carbon emissions, much of it through engineering innovations devised by Sainsbury’s consultants, including Red and Halsall. Sainsbury has already achieved a 20% carbon cut by 2004/05 and is now on target to cut a further 25% by 2012.
