Definition client Red Engineering Design has been shortlisted for yet more industry awards, this time including the highest possible accolade, the BSJ/CIBSE Large Consultancy of the Year 2009. By the same body, Red – for whom I prepare most communications including award submissions – has also been shortlisted for their International Achievement award, whilst the Oxfordshire Business Awards judges have shortlisted Red in both the Environmental Property & Construction and International Trader categories. The BSJ/CIBSE winners will be announced on 16th June, the Oxfordshire winners on 19th June.
Red has now won at five out of the six events to which we have made submissions (and for which the winners have been announced) and we have been shortlisted for every one of the eleven individual awards involved. Indeed, having made fifteen award submissions to date, we have never failed to be included amongst the fi nalists.
How have we done this? It helps, of course, that Red is staffed by genuinely clever, committed engineers with a gift and, more importantly, a system for realising practical innovations and delivering reliable designs faster than just about anyone else in the business. But yes, you have to argue and present your case well, and to be a bit strategic about it. With a little smart thinking, you can improve your chances significantly.
