What I do
- Help you to decide what marketing you should do, from strategy to detailed action plans.
- Implement what you decide you want, overseeing and taking responsibility for all aspects.
- Save you money by using trusted, great value creatives, whose charges are passed on at cost.
Since founding Definition in 1997, I have focused on helping professional and business services clients to build their brands and develop new business opportunities in a more cost-effective, process led manner than conventional marketing techniques allow. This works because, in the service sector:
- What you say does matter more than how you say it;
- You probably do much more than you claim credit for;
- There are strong distinctions between you and your rivals – they’re just not easy to articulate.
In short, you are more special than you think you are.
Looking at your market positioning and to what extent it fits with what you do, and with what your clients want, reveals this clearly, every time. And that means that, whatever action you take, it delivers a bigger boost to your bottom line, faster.
Specific services include:
- Advice and practical recommendations on marketing strategy, service development, branding and profile development, generating and exploiting new business opportunities. The emphasis here is on genuine innovation and, often, trouble-shooting.
- Project managing the implementation of recommendations, where desired and appropriate, using your in-house resources, your preferred suppliers or suppliers recommended by me. This encompasses everything from exhibitions and websites to signage and literature.
- Delivery of specific, discrete projects, especially writing corporate strategies and literature, writing tender submissions and writing industry award submissions, together with overseeing any creative and production work required.
- Training in creating marketing strategies for service sector organisations, in writing tender submissions, in copywriting, in marketing legal services and marketing property services.
- Clients include Portico Investments (formerly part of the US Prudential), specialist PI and Employment solicitors Everatt & Company, M&E system designers Red Engineering, estate agents Jackson-Stops & Staff and Beaney Pearce, solicitors Universa Law, IT & telephony specialists QOS Networks, construction project managers Rose and the charity for the homeless, SMart.
