About Definition
Established in 1997, Definition is a partnership which provides, in effect, out-sourced marketing directors to clients who, by virtue of their size or philosophy, do not have a full time main board marketing director.
The Defintion consultants are Michael Taite and Emma Taite, both highly experienced marketeers, though from very different backgrounds.
Michael is also Vice Chairman of the Environmental Law Foundation, a unique, London-based national charity which provides access to environmental justice for individuals and community groups to whom it might otherwise be denied.
Michael Taite
Prior to founding Definition, Michael worked with advertising agencies in London and Birmingham and, prior to that, was, for five years, Head of Marketing and Sales for Regalian Properties PLC in Mayfair. Reporting, for much of that time, directly to Chief Executive David Goldstone, this role included responsibility for, at its peak, some thirteen large developments in Central London, the south coast, Salford and Washington, Tyne & Wear and included commercial, residential, retirement and marina properties.
Michael’s professional training is as a Chartered Company Secretary. This encompassed business law and company law, corporate accounting, quantitative studies and organisational behaviour. Michael has never practised as a company secretary.
Emma Taite
Emma’s background is with top 10 London advertising agencies, for example as account director for British Telcom with M&C Saatchi, as account director for BMI Baby and Cooperative Group with Partners BDDH (now part of Euro RSCG) and as account director for National Savings, Thomson Holidays, Alliance & Leicester and American Airlines with DDB UK. More recently, Emma has worked in a senior position with the national charity, Business in the Community, which is a leading corporate social responsibility organisation. Emma has extensive knowledge of media planning and, early in her career, worked with the PR agency Biss Lancaster, now also part of Euro RSCG.
Emma joined Definition in 2010.
